Shaped by more than 20 years practicing across government service, corporate law, and private practice, Chelsey’s work spans commercial transactions, real estate, construction, civil litigation, and regulatory compliance. She is licensed in Idaho, Washington, California, and admitted to practice in U.S. District Courts.
Before becoming an attorney, Chelsey had a brief career in securities and real estate, which shaped how she thinks about business risk and what clients need from legal counsel. After earning her J.D. from Seattle University School of Law, she represented financial institutions, developers, contractors, and government entities across a range of commercial and civil matters. A 10-year-long chapter spent in Switzerland added an international dimension to her practice, where she served as General Counsel for a private consulting firm and held senior leadership roles at Credit Suisse, AG, advising on international compliance, data privacy, and regulatory risk.
Born and raised in Idaho, Chelsey returned to her home state and served as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for Kootenai County, handling both misdemeanor and felony matters, including a post-conviction capital case involving the murder of a law enforcement officer. At Malek + Malek, she combines her broad legal background with practical business judgment to help clients solve problems, manage risk, and achieve their objectives with confidence. Whether working with clients or volunteering, Chelsey prioritizes integrity and civility in her interactions, in order to work towards meaningful solutions.
Chelsey is a year-round outdoor recreation enthusiast, passionate about camping, fly-fishing, golfing and skiing. Chelsey also volunteers with a domestic violence organization, supporting survivors as they work to leave abusive situations safely. Her greatest joy comes from spending time with her husband, family, friends, and her two four-legged companions—Frankie, a Belgian Malinois, and Lucy, a German Shepherd.
